Akire Pierre was founded in Washington,DC in 2005 by Marquis Smith and Erika Cooksey. Our company first started out as making baby blankets, scarves and hats during the frigid East Coast winters. When someone asked us if we have ever made a dress that was a challenge that we were ready to take and grab it by the collar. Marquis began making dresses for woman all over the Washington Metropolitan area. He has since showcased the work in D.C, Maryland, Virgina, Louisiana, Texas and California. The company only continues to grow more and more to become internationally is the general goal.
